Connel Airport temporarily closed today (Monday 21st June)

An unexpected Wheels Up landing of a Piper Arrow light aircraft this morning at 11.10 am has temporarily closed the Airport at Connel.

All three passengers are perfectly safe, if rather shaken. The aircraft is a little bruised, but not badly damaged, however it did end up sideways across the runway in front of the control tower.

The lads from Flit are on scene with their 17 tonner and Hiab to see if they can lift it to recover the plane, and the use of the runway.

Planes wanting to use Connel, Oban Airport, are presently being diverted to other landing strips like Glen forsa.
