Bumper blackberry harvest

has everyone been out picking Blackberries this evening?

There is a wonderfully sweet, early and bumper crop of blackberries this year.

They freeze well so get out and collect some for the best Blackberry and Apple crumble or pies later in the year. They also work really well as a steep for gin or whisky for a Christmas treat.

It is great to catch them really ripe but before the autumn rains make the soggy and tasteless. There is plenty this year for us AND for the wild birds.

so get out and get picking !!
