Logs from Glen Etive, the old fashioned way.

Keep an eye out for the barge MV Kanutta — she will become a familiar sight in Loch Etive.

She has just been commissioned by Great Glen Shipping to move 13,000 tonnes of logs out of the Glen Etive forests to Inverness, via the Caledonian Canal

This is a great boon to all road users too, saving over 5,000 lorry movements from the A82 and has been made possible by grant funding from the Scottish Government to get lorries off Scotland’s road network..

The initiative will remove over 5,000 lorry trips from the A82, reducing emissions and wear and tear on the roads. Funding has also been secured to finance a mobile floating pier at the head of Loch Etive.
