Marine Scottish Regions Consultation Event – Invitation to Inveraray

Scottish Marine Regions Consultation

Loch Fyne Hotel, Inverary

Tuesday 1st Feb 2011, 11:30am for 12noon

The Firth of Clyde Forum is hosting an open event as part of the Scottish Government consultation on Scottish Marine Regions and I would be delighted if you could attend. The Marine (Scotland) Act provides for the creation of marine regions and the delegation of marine planning to a local level.  This will allow for local accountability and input to decision making.  Scottish Marine Regions will be created through secondary legislation once the characteristics for establishing their boundaries are determined.

Consultation on this process is now underway and will close on 18 February 2011.    The full consultation document can be downloaded from scotland.gov.uk/Topics/marine/seamanagement/regional/Consultation .

To support the consultation process, the Firth of Clyde Forum is hosting an open event in your area. The programme will include a presentation from Marine Scotland, opportunities for questions and annotation of maps. A light lunch will be available for everyone who register for the event.

Your input would be greatly appreciated and, if you will be able to attend, please register (admission free) for the event by contacting us on 0141 951 0820 or clyde@clydeforum.org

Please feel welcome to pass this invitation on to others who may be interested in attending.

With best regards,

Kirstie Dyson
