Proposed Final Loch Etive ICZM plan report

Following the public consultation on the draft Loch Etive ICZM Plan at the end of last year, Argyll and Bute Council’s Marine & Coastal Development Unit has considered the responses to the consultation and published a Consultation Report and the Proposed Final Loch Etive ICZM Plan on the Council website.

The Consultation Report details all individual comments made during the consultation and the Council’s response to these comments, including whether they resulted in any change to the Plan.  The Proposed Final Loch Etive ICZM Plan is presented so that the changes made to the plan can be viewed as ‘tracked changes’.  Both documents will be available to view at www.argyll-bute.gov.uk/lochetive from Thursday 20 January. (edit — not up yet, but will be in next 24 hours)

It was suggested at previous public ICZM meetings that a public meeting could be held after the consultation, where the main changes made to the plan as a result of the consultation could be presented. Any significant feedback from this meeting could be included in the Council report that will be taken to the Oban, Lorn and the Isles Area Committee Business Day on 9 February and Council on 3 March, where the Plan and Consultation Report will be considered for adoption as supplementary guidance to the Council’s Local Plan.

While the Council is happy to hold a public meeting, we are aware that some of you may be content reviewing the Consultation Plan and Proposed Final Plan and not consider a need for a public meeting.  Therefore, I would be very grateful if you could let me know by Tuesday 25 January if you would like to attend a meeting or not.  If there is interest in a meeting, it will be held at Connel Village Hall on Wednesday 2 February from 7 to 9pm.

If you require any further information or would like to speak to anyone about the proposed final plan or process for final approval/adoption please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email.

Best regards

Mark
