Barcaldine’s biking brilliance

The generosity of a company giving all the children of Barcaldine school a bike is paying dividends.

The whole school community of 23 pupils recently took part in the Sustrans The Big Pedal event, which involved between 1,000+ schools and over 280,000 cycling school kids.

The school is now up for a national cycling award, coming 5th of all schools throughout the country, with a massive 148:56:29 cycled minutes over the 15 stages, having done the last “virtual stage” of 526 miles between Great Yarmouth and London in just over 13 minutes.

It was wonderful to see that Ardchattan school was the 4th placed school in the 8 Argyll and Bute participating schools, congratulations to ALL !
