The work at Bonawe Iron Furnace was divided very distinctly into two, local Gaelic people were recruited to cut timber and make charcoal in the woods, and a team of English speaking skilled workers were brought in to operate the furnace.
Take a theatrical tour of the furnace and explore the different cultures of these two groups and the challenges they faced in working together.
Join The Walking Theatre Company this weekend and step back in time to discover the early days of the Furnace and the people that came to live and work there.
In an interactive walk a merry band of players take you about as you all bring the furnace back to life . This group are so skilled at bring the people of the time alive and weaving the audience into the history of the place
Performed at 11.00 am, to 2.00 pm and 3.00pm.
Included in the normal admission price.
Tickets can be purchased on the day.
