The Hollow Mountain String Band April 12th

Our Live in Benderloch 2013 season kicks off on
Friday 12th April with ………   The Hollow Mountain String Band

The Hollow Mountain String Band play old-time American music, the wayward child of anglo-celtic traditions and the agreeable grandaddy of bluegrass and country. Foot stompin’ hillbilly music with its roots firmly in the dance tradition… you may struggle to stay in your seat.
The members of Argyll Acoustic have long had a love of American traditional music and from the start  incorporated American music into their set. In 2010 we decided to put together a band inspired by this music, particularly that of the early 20th century string bands, and The Hollow Mountain String Band was born.
The line up of he Hollow Mountain String Band includes Chris Beveridge on fiddle, John McMahon on guitar, Stephen McNally on double bass and Rab woods on mandolin. Lead vocals are shared by John and Rab, with the occasional song from Stephen, and all four members provide harmonies.
