Sustrans Route – south of Benderloch – options appraisal report

Sustrans have been undertaking route option appraisal and feasibility work for the gap section on the National Cycle Network (NCN) route 78 which exists south of Benderloch.  During this time they have met with key landowners and the local communities – all of whom are fully supportive of the NCN in the area and the positive effects it has had – emphasising the need for resolution.

They have produced an appraisal report : – pdf link here:- Sustrans Ledaig Options Appraisal Report and recommended routing for the communities information and further circulation.  This concludes a new route being developed using the existing forest section which exists to the south west, continuing on the east side of the trunk road and joining the railway path at the Boat House track.  Sustrans hope this route provides most benefits and value for the area and also presents a practical solution which can be delivered in the medium term.
Please note the proposed line of routing is not fixed and still at an early stage, there will be further opportunity to shape all the detailed aspects as the project progresses from stakeholders and the community.

Sustrans plan to arrange a presentation and Q&A session for the community in conjunction with the Community council .. details to follow.
In the meantime, should you have any questions or require further information please get in touch on my details below.

Please note the proposed line of routing is not fixed and still at an early stage, there will be further opportunity to shape all the detailed aspects as the project progresses.  As a stakeholder for the project your feedback and knowledge of the area is important as we look to develop the cycle route – and I hope you can continue to be involved in the project moving forward.

Thank you again for your cooperation as part of the process to date.  You will note that we intend to further develop the proposals this year through design and I will keep you updated throughout.
