Beinn Lora closed for felling for much of the spring / summer 2017

from the Forestry commission :
“Beinn Lora is due substantial tree felling works which will affect visitor access for a few months. Activity will begin in February with civil engineering preparation works followed by tree felling beginning March 2017. The forest will be kept open during civil engineering works however we will require full closure of the facility during tree felling operations to ensure public safety. This is estimated to be around six months. The car park will be completely closed at the village
Access to the summit of Beinn Lora will still be possible during the works via the forest road network with access information to follow. Via Mill Farm and the Sandpit routes
Alternative Forestry Commission facilities within easy reach are Sutherland’s Grove and Fearnoch forest. Beinn Lora is one of our busiest forests with over 12,000 visitors last year and we aim to bring long term benefits to our visitors as we tidy up and upgrade the facilities. “
