My great grandfather was John Campbell, the bard of Ledaig who died in 1897.I am researching to write a book on his life.I have a scrapbook which he started the his daughter and then her daughter(my mother) kept up. My mother also wrote a book on her life as a district nurse in the area. I have since read the book, ‘By Sword and Pen’ by Liam MacClarich.I have an old picture of John and the other two founder members of the Mod taken in the 1860’s. As the Mod did not start till 1892, it seems to have taken a while to get started. John’s book of poems was published in 1884 and all proceeds went to the Mod. Can anyone help regarding the years before the Mod.
