New events programme for October – December 2016 out now!

Your new-look What’s On features our new Glasgow venue at Kelvin Hall as well as our ever-expanding selection of entertaining and inspiring events in Edinburgh.

Treasures — Jessie Kesson – ‘Ae ootlin’
This treasures display highlights facets of Scottish writer, Jessie Kesson’s fascinating life and work and why her works always have ae ‘ootlin’…someone that never really fitted into the thing.’
(Open from Thursday 22 September until Friday 25 November)

Exhibition — You are Here. A journey through maps. From Edinburgh to the edges of the Earth, we explore the fascinating craft of mapmaking.

Edinburgh Event — The Question of Scotland:
Devolution and After. Former MP, Tam Dalyell discusses why the UK is on the brink of the most serious constitutional crisis in its history.

Glasgow Event — UNESCO World Day for
Audiovisual Heritage. A discussion of the importance of film preservation and, in particular, the film ‘St Kilda – Britain’s Loneliest isle’ (1923/8).

Glasgow Doors Open Days at Kelvin Hall
Our new public space at Kelvin Hall opens at 1:30 pm on Wednesday 14 September. You can also visit on Friday and Saturday as part of Glasgow’s Doors Open Days and explore our new home within a transformed Kelvin Hall (including family arts and craft workshops on Saturday only).
